With over 15 years of experience within this profession, I have found a calling in post-operative care following knee and shoulder surgeries. This area requires ongoing education, support through each stage of recovery and a big goal to work towards. I grew up competing in high level soccer and now I have two boys in sports of their own. In my spare time I enjoy being active in the outdoors and taking on new challenges.
Kinesiology Degree at the University of Calgary and Certificate of Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University.

What inspired you to become an Athletic Therapist?
I grew up with a heavy involvement in sports and after sustaining an injury of my own I was introduced to Athletic Therapy. I have always had a passion for sports science and learning the many roles of an Athletic Therapist both in the field and in clinic caught my interest. I was intrigued that I could work in the health industry and help people learn about their body, provide tools to help them recover from injury and guide them in their return to full participation in activities and sports.
What is the one piece of advice you wish every client knew?
Every person's journey from injury back to full health looks different and with constant communication we can find the right pathway.
What do people find most surprising about AT?
That exercise plays such a huge role in rehabilitation and that the way the exercises are introduced, the quality of movement performed and the use of manual therapy to help with the exercise makes all the difference.
Describe your proudest moment or greatest success as an AT
As an Athletic Therapist there are successes that are celebrated every day!! This is a reason why I love my job. Successes include helping someone achieve relief from their pain, gain more range of motion, acquire function that allows them ease with activities of daily living, building strength that is beyond that which they had before injury, providing someone with confidence to return to their previous or to new activities, watching someone put in the effort in their rehabilitation and overcome their injury completely.
