What inspired you to become an Athletic Therapist?
Growing up playing sports and getting injured, I was familiar with physiotherapy. I was interested in the thought of being able to keep the sport aspect of my life while still pursuing a further education of rehabilitation. While at Acadia University I was accepted into the S.I.A.M program where I learned about Athletic Therapy as a profession and was a student therapist for the women's rugby team. From that point I saw Athletic Therapy had all the aspects of Physiotherapy that I was interested in and provided me with the best route of pursuing my dream of working in professional sports.
What is the one piece of advice you wish every client knew?

That a large number of sideline medical staff are athletic therapists, not physiotherapists.
