What inspired you to become an Athletic Therapist?
I grew up around sports, specifically lacrosse - not playing sports much, but surrounded by people who did, and going to watch and support those athletes at games.There was always such a big drive to make it somewhere through sport, and I wanted to be someone who helped an athlete get to that somewhere.I'm working more with the general population now, but I still want to help people reach their goals, regardless what that goal may be.
What is the one piece of advice you wish every client knew?
Your core is involved in every move you make - take care to make sure it's functioning properly!
What do people find most surprising about AT?
In a private clinic setting, it's hard to tell the difference between an AT and a PT.
Describe your proudest moment or greatest success as an AT
I recently had an athlete call me for advice - it has been almost 10 years since he's been 'my' athlete, but I was still his first call.
