AATA Membership

The AATA has two types of membership: Certified (including Associates) and Certification Candidates.

Certified Members have passed their national certification exams and are in good standing with both the national and provincial organizations (CATA and AATA). To be in good standing, a member must:

  - pay their annual dues and maintain their liability insurance
  - provide proof of updated CPR and first aid training
  - complete their maintenance of certification documentation
  - be an active participant in the AATA and the community they serve

Certification Candidates are members who are either still attending educational institutions or in the process of acquiring their national certification. To maintain their memberships, these individuals must:

  - pay their dues
  - provide proof of updated CPR and first aid training
  - complete their maintenance of certification documentation
  - be accepted by a certified member who will serve as their Supervisory Athletic Therapist, who will carry the certification candidate under their insurance policy, within one year of applying for membership to the organization
